Paced Tricuspid Atresia
Report:
Atrial pacemaker rhythm 111/min
Left axis deviation â60o
Left ventricular hypertrophy with ST/T changes
Comment:
The child had Fontan repair119 (atriopulmonary connection) in infancy.
His combination of LVH and LAD is characteristic of tricuspid atresia; the only thing missing is a large P congenitale. This may of course be masked by atrial pacing.
The pacemaker is a DDD one, with AV interval longer than the present paced PR one; this gives the patient the advantage of narrow, native QRS complex.
