The ECG Library
The ECG Library was created by cardiologist and intensivist, George Nikolić OAM, in Canberra, Australia.
After moving from Belgrade, Yugoslavia to Sydney, Australia in 1964, George studied at the University of Sydney, before working in Sydney (St Vincent's Hospital), Worcester, Massachusetts (St Vincent's Hospital) and Canberra (Canberra Hospital), the latter for many years as the director of the Intensive Care Unit.
Over the course of his career, George developed the ECG library as a teaching aid and published over 130 reports in medical journals. George was a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, fellow of the American College of Cardiology, fellow of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine and fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
In 2006, George was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his contributions to medicine, before retiring in 2010.
The ECG Library Limited ABN 57 635 053 360 is an Australian not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and registered charity, which was established in 2019 to make the ECG library available online. The ECGs and accompanying reports are subject to a Creative Commons licence, which means they are freely available for any use, where properly attributed. All ECGs have been anonymised.
The ECG Library Limited thanks Dr Darryl McGill, cardiologist, for making research funding available to establish the ECG library online.
